Get Involved.

Either online or in-person, work individually with participants to help improve their English skills, study for a high school equivalency exam or prepare for the citizenship test. There are no residency requirements for one-on-one tutors.

Either online or in-person, facilitate a workshop for participants on a topic within health literacy, family literacy, workforce preparation, citizenship, financial literacy, or fun! There are no residency requirements for workshop leaders.

Match one-on-one with a participant and meet up at least once per month for some fun and support. Mentors must reside in Los Angeles.

Online, lead a weekly support group for women in a language of need, such as: Chinese, Armenian, Ukrainian, Tigrinya, Spanish, Tagalog, etc. Support group leaders must reside in California.

Kids between 5-16 can join the volunteer club and attend a quarterly volunteering event where they can spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon learning about the organization and completing a task, such as assembling birthday party kits after the party supply donation drive. Kids’ volunteer club participants must reside in Los Angeles.

You can help dispense information about opportunities for volunteering and donating as well as information about services for participants by posting printed materials that we can provide for your physical space or promoting our pages via social media and other online platforms.

Host an in-person or virtual fundraiser to help raise much needed money for programming that is free for participants.

If you have an event space, or even a big backyard, and you would like to host a mixer or family literacy event for the participants and/or their children, we would love to hear your ideas. Event and party hosts must reside in Los Angeles.

Each month we will focus on collecting donations for specific items (craft supplies, birthday party supplies, interview clothing, and more). We can provide a promotional box for collecting donations, if you can host a drive in your business, school, or home. IWRC will collect the donations. Donation drives must be held in Los Angeles.

All of IWRC’s programming is absolutely free for participants. Your financial support allows us to offer such a wide array of wrap-around, comprehensive services and also enables us to also provide fun, community-building activities for the participants and their children.
